Dear Friends,
This week, I've truly seen the best of our community members, businesses, and organizations. I continue to receive an overwhelming number of messages from people asking how they can contribute their time and resources. Your support has been humbling and encouraging as we continue to push forward together.
I was fortunate to meet with multiple organizations on Wednesday as they dropped off donations of thousands of masks and medical supplies. When we're seeing empty shelves everywhere around us, it was inspiring to see this outpouring of generosity to support our County. I’d like to extend my gratitude to the Chinese American Federation, Chambers of Commerce, Micro Ingredients, California Asian Art Auction Gallery, and BYD for giving us critical supplies, and more importantly, much-needed hope.
As we look ahead with our Safer at Home orders now extended through May 15, we're going to need this spirit of collaboration more than ever. Thank you to every person who has stayed at home. You're saving lives, and no amount of "thank you's" will ever be enough.
Best wishes,
Kathryn Barger Supervisor, Fifth District Chair, Board of Supervisors
